After the madness of grandeur on the Las Vegas Strip last week, Formula 1 is not taking a break and is heading to Losail this weekend for the Qatar Grand Prix. Due to the special sprint format, the teams had an hour of work to find the perfect setting, before the start of hostilities with this evening's sprint qualifying.

At the start of this race meeting, Max Verstappen proudly wore his number one on the body of his car, after obtaining his fourth world champion title. From the first five minutes of this timed session, the Dutchman set the best time in 1:38:338, wearing medium tires. After twenty minutes of driving, many drivers competed for first place, but it was ultimately Ferrari who took the upper hand. Charles Leclerc took the fastest lap in 1:23:702, on hard tires.

At the end of this session, Carlos Sainz joined his teammate at the front, the Spaniard stole the lead by setting a time of 1:23:419, three tenths faster than the native of the principality . At the end of these 60 minutes without incident, it was finally Charles Leclerc who took over. He crossed the finish line ahead of the two McLarens of Lando Norris second and Oscar Piastri, third. For our French, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, they finished in fifteenth and last position.
