Sunday November 24, 2024towards 20h, a 24-year-old young woman drops off a 37-year-old man at the EMERGENCIES of Vernon (Your).
The latter is seriously injured and presents a bleeding wound at the level of of the. He was quickly taken care of and transferred to the Rouen hospital center (Seine-Maritime), his pronostic vital being engaged.
Murder investigation opened
The man, originally from Vernon and from the Turkish community according to our information, finally succumbed to his injuries and is deceased in the night of Monday November 25th. In the process, the Évreux public prosecutor's office opened a flagrant investigationfrom the head of murderand entrusted to the judicial police of Rouen.
Traces of blood in an apartment
In this context, the 24-year-old young woman, who had driven the victim to the hospital the day before, was interviewed by the police, as a witness, on Monday November 25.
After “a first series of explanations on how the events unfolded. She was left free at this stage,” said the public prosecutor of Évreux in a press release.
The investigation nevertheless revealed that the two individuals found themselves in the same appartement at the time of the facts.

A conflictual relationship
Following these findings, the young woman was placed in police custody at the Rouen police headquarters on the evening of Tuesday, November 26 in order to be heard again.
“During her hearings, she explained that she had established an emotional relationship with the victim, but that this relationship had been marred by regular violence against her. On the evening of the events, during which she claimed to have been assaulted again, she grabbed a knife in panic and struck her partner with it. She certified that she did not want to kill him. Noticing the injuries she had caused, she immediately contacted emergency services, before taking the victim to hospital. »
Referred to court
The latter was referred in court today, Friday November 29at the end of his police custody. A judicial information was opened on his subject “on the count of murder by spouse or cohabitant”.
“At the end of her first appearance interrogation and her indictment, she was placed inpre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution. The investigations will now continue under the direction of the investigating magistrate,” concludes the prosecutor.
She would have been incarcerated in the Rouen remand center.
