Sound engineers in the Paris region, Olivier Anaya and Aurélien became millers in Arnay-sous-Vitteaux. They talk about their new life in Côte-d'Or.
“Sound engineers in the Paris region, we left everything to become millers. The adventure begins during the Covid crisis. I (Aurélien) bought a house in the village with my wife almost ten years ago. During confinement, I discovered the Moulin du Foulon and gave a helping hand to Robert, the miller, when the direct sale of flour had exploded in the face of shortages in supermarkets. Bonds were forged. Robert told me of his desire to retire. I told him “ If you train me, I'll take it again! » Olivier, my partner, came to join me after exile in Peru. We learned the trade, with the desire to perpetuate this artisanal flour mill which creates links in the village. 90% of our customers are Côtes-d'Oriens, the vast majority of them bakers, pizza makers and restaurateurs. We transform cereals from the surrounding fields with the Savoir-faire 100% Côte-d'Or brand. Above all, we fell in love with this corner of the department. The welcome from the people of the village and the customers, the walks in the Ouche valley, the Hautes-Côtes, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain… No regrets, we totally thrive here! »
