The firefighters were called shortly before 10 a.m., this Friday, November 29, 2024 in Saint-Denis-d’Anjou, for a fire in a house located in the town, on the road to Morannes.

Two neighbors come to help him

“The boiler caught fire around 9:45 a.m.,” testifies the occupant of the house, who immediately shouted to alert the neighbors. Two of them quickly came to his aid and tried to put out the fire, which spread to a shelf of books, while waiting for the firefighters to arrive. “I managed to save my granddaughter’s drawings”, confides the occupant. Slightly inconvenienced by the smoke, she was taken care of by the firefighters with her neighbors. None were taken to hospital.

Limited damage

The fire was quickly brought under control, limiting the damage. “The smoke was impressive,” says the neighbor. “I was very scared, I was very lucky because I was going to go out when I saw the fire,” underlines the occupant of the house.

The fire brigade intervention ended at 11:45 a.m. 21 firefighters were mobilized.
