NASA astronauts reveal their Thanksgiving meal

Happy Thanksgiving! NASA astronauts currently staying on the International Space Station (ISS) offered Internet users this Wednesday an “unboxing” of their meal received especially for this American holiday, reports the BBC.

Nick Hague, Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore revealed, in a video shared by NASA, the menu that awaited them for Thanksgiving. On the program: sardines, smoked turkey, Brussels sprouts, spiced apples… all obviously vacuum-packed in order to last as long as possible while surviving the journey into space. “It’s going to be delicious,” they summed up, quoted by Space.

Grateful for Zero Gravity

“We just wanted to wish a happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and loved ones on Earth, as well as those who support us,” the astronauts said. Two of them are still on board the ISS because of a problem on the Starliner capsule that carried them into space last June.

They also shared what they were grateful for this year, a tradition unique to Thanksgiving. “We are for the lack of gravity,” they said. “There are few places where you can literally lie on the ceiling! It's great. »
