A violent fire broke out in a restaurant in the 14the district of Paris Thursday November 28, 2024 around 2:30 p.m. Alerted, around sixty firefighters quickly went to the site, indicates BFM Île-de-France . A security perimeter was also set up by the police, complete Le Figaro.
The fire was brought under control around 3:15 p.m. According to firefighters, only the terrace and the facade of the restaurant were ravaged by the flames. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Two GRDF agents were, however, injured when the fire broke out. One of them was treated at the scene, while the other was rushed to hospital.
A “gas pipe caught fire”
An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire. Quoted by our colleagues from Figarothe police headquarters explains that a “gas line caught fire” during a technical intervention carried out on public roads.
A fire then broke out at the facade of this restaurant located very close to the Montparnasse tower. “The customers and staff of the restaurant, around 30 to 40 people, immediately left the establishment”she continues.
