“It would have been necessary six years of fightingso that the fifty or so farmers that we are, united as a collective So that the Trap liveswins his case. On July 4, 2024, the administrative court of appeal of annulled the decree of March 27, 2019 which had downgraded our territory from compensation for natural disabilities (ICHN).

At the time, we formed a collective to make people talk about us by all non-violent means. In two weeks, we organized the Disadvantaged Agriculture Show which brought together more than 2,000 people.

A legal and on-the-ground fight

In the summer of 2018, a more legal phase began. To prove that the data provided by the State to downgrade us was not good, we found the pedologist who had produced the map in the 1980s and contacted an active soil scientist.

With the help of the collective's farmers, they identified 27 different zones on the territory while the State only had six, thanks to more than 600 samples to identify the percentage of stones, soil depths or even soil depth. 'rooting.

Very advanced soil mapping

The Departmental Council has provided us with a cartography expert who plotted the results on a map. To finance this procedure, we managed to raise 50,000 euros thanks to subsidies from town halls, organized events and the sale of hay.

We also all committed to paying 10% of the 2018 ICHN to our lawyer. This victory is beautiful, especially since I no longer believed in it. I didn't think that with our limited means we would get there.

Forget no one in victory

But the fight is not over. We will continue to fight so that Only and the young people settled who have not received the disadvantaged area bonus in their Young Farmers (DJA) allocation can obtain it. Then we await compensation for the six years without ICHN, and damages for the six farms in the territory which stopped their activity during this period.

For six years, if there was one area where one should not settle, it was the Trap. Today, in terms of territorial dynamics and for the transfer of farms, this victory provides a better horizon. »
