French special envoy to Lebanon insists on “urgency” to elect a president in Lebanon
The French special envoy to Lebanon, Jean-Yves Le Drian, underlines at the end of a visit to Beirut the urgency of electing a President of the Republic, whom Lebanese deputies must nominate on January 9.
“I came to Lebanon immediately after the announcement of the ceasefire to mark France's support for its full implementation and to underline the urgency, more than ever, of electing a President of the Republic and relaunching the institutional process,” he told Agence France Presse (AFP), before his departure.
