In total, more than 80,000 people had to be evacuated to 467 temporary shelters in seven Malaysian states affected by flooding during the week, the organization said on Friday.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi warned Thursday that the floods “are expected to be more serious than in 2014,” when more than 100,000 people had to leave their homes, according to the official Bernama news agency.
