Three questions for… Mathieu Hurtaud, co-coach of Hennebont-Lochrist HB.
What assessment do you make of your performance in Libourne (33-26)?
We had to confirm our victory against Sud Mayenne, it was rather a failure! We completely missed the match, both morally and physically. We were much too messy. Faced with an opponent who was vengeful and very motivated (Libourne occupied last place in the group and had not won a meeting), it could not do it. We came home very disappointed with our performance, the score and what we showed. It is possible that we were not alarming enough about the opposition that could be provided to us. Now we have to learn from it and turn the page.
What do you remember from your start to the season?
At the start of the season, we mainly focused on structuring the team since there was movement in the off-season. We would like to obtain a better ranking at the end of the season than last season. Our good start to the season reassured us. This is why we consider the match against Libourne to be an accident. Team cohesion has enabled us to achieve good performances so far.
How are you approaching the match against US Ivry?
It's a bit of a seesaw match against a team which is, like us, classified in mid-table with 18 points, and which seems a little more efficient. The one who loses will see the second part of the ranking, concerned about maintaining, while victory can project you to the top of the table. Our desire to rectify what did not work in Libourne will be our main motivation. Winning against Ivry would really be a good thing.
