Who says new month says changes in our daily life. December 1, 2024 is no exception to the rule. Several new features will come into force during December. The Dispatch reviews them.
Once is not customary, it is not the first day of the month but throughout December that several changes will take place in our daily lives this year. Let’s review the main new features by the end of the year.
Gas price: + 2.5% on average
The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) forecasts an increase of 2.5% on average in the benchmark sales price in December 2024. For cooking and hot water, this benchmark price is €0.1413/kWh and it is 0.1124 €/kWh for heating. This is the sixth increase of the year 2024.
General practitioner: consultation at 30 euros
The consultation with the general practitioner will cost more. It will increase from €26.50 to €30 from December 22, 2024. For children under 6 years old, the parent(s) will have to pay €35 instead of €31.50. The CPAM will always cover 70% of the consultation amount, the mutual insurance companies 30%. Visits to several specialists will also cost more:
- Pediatrician for a child under 2 years old: €39 instead of €38.50
- Pediatrician for a child aged 2 to 6: €35 instead of €33.50
- Psychiatrist: €55 instead of €51.70
- Neuropsychiatrist: €55 instead of €51.70
- Neurologist: €55 instead of €51.70
- Child psychiatrist: €75
- Medical gynecologist: €37 instead of €33.50
- Dermatologist (melanoma screening): €54 instead of €47.50
- Geriatrician: €37 instead of €31.50
Hotel and catering industry: small increase in salaries
A little help awaits employees in the hotel and catering industry. From 1is December, the salary scale for these professions establishes the minimum wage at €12 gross per hour, or a few cents above the minimum wage set at €11.88, according to a decree published in Official Journal November 9th.
Christmas bonus: one payment for 2 million households
As in previous years, the most modest households will receive the Christmas bonus. It will be paid from December 17 to 2.2 million households. No need to make a request, the CAF, Pôle emploi or the MSA will make the transfer if you received the RSA (Active Solidarity Income), the ASS (Specific Solidarity Allowance) or the AER (Allocation retirement equivalent). The amount is €152.45 for ASS or AER beneficiaries. For people with RSA, the amount depends on the composition of the family: €152.45 for a single person, €228.68 for a single person with one child, €274.41 for a single person with two children for example .

Taxes: last days to modify
Have you noticed an error on your tax notice? Did you forget to mention any income or expenses? Hurry: it is possible to make changes online until Wednesday December 4, 2024 inclusive. If you have to pay housing tax on your second home, you must pay it no later than December 21 for electronic payment. If you have opted for direct debit, it will be made to your bank account from December 27.
Pinel device: it’s over
The Pinel system will end on December 31, 2024. It was considered too costly for public finances. This program, which takes its name from the former Minister of Housing Sylvia Pinel, was created in 2014 to provide tax advantages in the context of a rental investment. He had evolved in 2023 with Pinel +.
