POLICE. Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec carried out an operation on Bégin Boulevard in Saint-Anselme, following a robbery that occurred in the middle of the evening on Thursday, which reportedly left at least one dead.
According to newspaper sources, one person died from gunshot wounds following the event. Another person reportedly suffered similar injuries and had to be transported to a hospital by paramedics.
The Sûreté du Québec finally confirmed at the end of the evening that emergency services were called around 8 p.m. that a robbery had occurred in a business and that an individual, possibly armed, broke into the business, in the aim of committing a theft, before fleeing on foot.
All hypotheses will be analyzed, indicates the police force, which nevertheless added that Crimes Against Persons investigators were dispatched to the scene. Police officers surveyed the event area for part of the evening and roadblocks were deployed in the area.
