The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the opening of the call for papers for the first edition of the Conference of Young Researchers, organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke, on the theme: “The law in motion: developments in law from yesterday to today”, which will be held on the Main Campus of the University of Sherbrooke, on March 27 and 28, 2025.

This conference inaugurates a new international platform dedicated to young French-speaking researchers, offering them the opportunity to present their work, to fuel interdisciplinary exchanges and to actively contribute to the debate on developments in law. Law, as a dynamic discipline, is transforming in response to societal, technological and political changes. From classical theories to the most recent reforms, these developments shape our societies and transcend our borders in profound ways.

For this first edition, we invite young researchers (master’s, doctorate and postdoctoral) to submit communication proposals addressing subjects related to the following themes (without limitation):

  • The historical development of fundamental legal concepts
  • Recent legislative reforms and their impacts
  • The role of new technologies in the transformation of law
  • Contemporary challenges for legal systems in a globalized world
  • Human rights facing new economic, political and environmental realities
  • Relations between legal orders

We particularly encourage interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary work.
