Indicted for attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention for having attacked two gendarmes in September 2023 in Bgard (Côtes-d'Armor), a man “was found deceased in his cell at the Saint-Brieuc remand center on Friday July 12, 2024”, announced this Thursday, November 28, Nicolas Heitz, the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc.

Extinction of public action
An investigation, entrusted to the Saint-Brieuc police station, was opened in order to determine the exact circumstances of the death of this former resident of Plouëc-du-Trieux. “The various testimonies collected and the autopsy performed did not reveal the intervention of a third party”added the prosecutor. His death results in the termination of public action. The trial will therefore not take place.
