Formula 1 ends in the Gulf. Before its epilogue in Abu Dhabi on December 8, the F1 world championship stops in Doha from Friday November 29 to 1is December, for the Qatar Grand Prix. This is the third time in history that the Emirate has hosted the paddock, after the 2021 editions, won by Lewis Hamilton, and the 2023 editions, won by Max Verstappen.
It was on this same Lusail circuit that the Dutchman won the title last year. Max Verstappen crowned world champion for the fourth time, last November 24 in Las Vegas, the stakes will be elsewhere. The fight for the constructors' title, still undecided, rages on. McLaren is in the lead with 608 points ahead of Ferrari, 584 points. Redbull and its 555 units complete the podium.
Final suspense of the 2024 season, who will finish in Verstappen's place as runner-up? 21 points separate the Briton Lando Norris, currently second in the general classification, and the Monegasque Charles Leclerc.

Used by the drivers for the first time three years ago, replacing the Australian GP, the Lusail circuit, near Doha, was very popular with the paddock for its high-speed turns. Qatar signed a 10-year contract from 2023 to join the Formula 1 calendar. In 2022, the Grand Prix did not take place due to the proximity to the Football World Cup. The race will take place at night on a track which already hosts the MotoGP world championship every year.
