While Russia was able to count on the support of North Korea, the Ukrainian army turned to South Korea in the hope of obtaining military aid.
This Wednesday, November 27, a Ukrainian delegation visited South Korea in the presence of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, to meet South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. The objective for Ukraine is to be able to get help of the country while Russia has strengthened its relations with North Korea.
According to the Korean Times, which cites several sources close to the matter, many subjects will be discussed during this meeting and in particular the potential presence of North Korean soldiers in Russia, and the possibility for South Korea to provide arms support to Kyiv.

For its part, the South China Morning Post assures that the Ukrainian delegation brought a wish list including in particular “anti-aircraft missiles and artillery pieces”.
“South Korea will listen to Ukraine's request, but it is “unlikely to make a clear commitment to supply weapons”, pointed out Doo Jin-ho, researcher at the Korea Institute for Defense Analysis, taken up by our colleagues. The government should take a wait-and-see approach, monitoring military cooperation Russia with North Korea, before deciding on the next steps.”
For the moment, South Korea has not supplied any weapons to Ukraine in its war against Russia. It would only have delivered non-lethal aid like gas masks and combat rations.
