Gala evening, to dream a little more in this Champions League campaign. Brest will have its eyes wide open when it travels to the pitch of the great FC Barcelona on Tuesday evening for the 5th day of the competition.
But make no mistake: it is Eric Roy's players who will arrive dressed as scarecrows… if their latest results in C1 are to be believed. For their very first campaign, the Brestois are in fact still undefeated after their first four matches, with three victories (against Sturm Graz, Salzburg and Sparta Prague) and a draw against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1). They occupy an unexpected fourth place in the league, one point ahead of Barça (6th), deprived of Lamine Yamal for this meeting.
But the road will seriously rise from this trip to Catalonia, to the Lluis-Companys Olympic stadium (the Camp Nou is still under construction). After Hansi Flick's Barcelona, Brest will have to contend with PSV Eindhoven, Chaktior Donetsk then Real Madrid. Before the knockout phase of the Champions League?
Barcelona-Brest kick-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. this Tuesday, November 26. The match will be watched on television on Canal + Sport.
