Cvery year, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation awards its literary prizes. Since 2023, they have been called the Espiègles, in reference to The legend of Ulenspiegelthe novel by Charles De Coster published in 1867, considered the founding act of French-speaking Belgian literature. This prize has existed for 100 years, in one form or another, and rewards Belgian authors in the fields of literature, in French and in regional languages, theater, poetry, youth, comics. and the influence of French-speaking Belgian literature. These prizes are endowed, the public authorities thus want to support artistic careers, beginners or confirmed.
