On November 9, the Exincourt club (Doubs) hosted Lons RC, a club from Lons-le-Saunier (Jura), for the Regional 2 championship for under-14s (U14). This meeting of young categories would have been marked by a regrettable fact.

The only female player present on the field and licensed at the LRC would have been the target of sexist and sexual insults from players of the opposing team. “Even his teammates were called names.” specifies his father. A complaint was filed with the Lons-le-Saunier police by the father of the 14-year-old girl.

His team is led at this point in the match by the locals, his coach decides to bring him into play at the 60th minute. “Chains arrive as soon as he arrives on the ground, accompanied by sexist remarks”explains Gérard Henry, president of Lons RC.

The referee did not stop the match

“His stinks”, “Dirty female dog”, “Get on your knees.”these are the comments that the young girl would have been confronted with. Exasperated, the latter would have left the field prematurely by taking off her jersey. “The referee did not stop the match”details the president of the club, “It’s a regret that he didn’t do it”.

From the side of the pitch, a player's mother would have confirmed having heard these insults, but as the match was not stopped, no report was written by the referee.

“When she told me this story, she was shocked, taken aback, I couldn’t believe my ears. The team should have left the field, the educator didn’t play his role”says the player’s father.

According to him, “We have to make things happen, the players who did this deserve to be sanctioned. Now the investigation is continuing, the different people must be heard, but what is certain is that the League must do its part. job facing teams that pose problems like that”.

Gérard Henry, the president of Lons-le-Saunier, claims to have sent a letter to the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Football League to resolve this matter. A complaint was filed by the father of the 15-year-old player:“I don’t expect anything criminally”he explains, “but if it can make a difference in the face of racism, sexism and other discrimination, it will be won”.

Depending on the progress of the law enforcement investigation, the League will decide whether or not to follow up on the case. When contacted, the Exincourt club, through its president Christophe Le, did not wish to respond to our requests.
