This restaurant, near Perpignan, well known for its meats, victim of a fire: employees on technical unemployment for a week

The fire apparently broke out in a strategic location in the restaurant near the chimney, an open brazier, which allows the meats for which the establishment is famous to be cooked. At Boeuf en Folie in Rivesaltes, near Perpignan, a fire broke out at 12:30 p.m., this Saturday, November 23, 2024, in full service. At the sight of the smoke released, an evacuation of the premises, without panic, was necessary so that around fifty customers were put out of danger. Fortunately no one was injured, not even among the twenty or so employees.

According to initial evidence, grease could have ignited the installations intended for cooking meat.

No one was exposed to a dangerous situation

During the intervention of the firefighters, around ten having been mobilized on the scene, a power cut was necessary, except for the refrigerators.

For the coming week during the restoration of the establishment, everything will be closed. “As we receive the public, we will carry out a technical inspection of the restaurant”assures the manager. Who, reassuringly, adds: “The piping and framework will be checked. Certainly, there was damage, but no one was exposed to a dangerous situation.”

At the end of the day, firefighters will work on site with a thermal camera to prevent a resumption of a blaze.
