The state of health of a 13-year-old boy remains very worrying, the day after the violent accident which occurred this Friday evening in Maisons-Alfort (Val-de-). The driver of the scooter was arrested shortly after the incident, after he fled. He was driving under the influence of drugs and after consuming alcohol.

Friday evening, just before 7 p.m., the schoolboy crossed the road, at the corner of Paul-Vaillant-Couturier and Professor-Cadiot streets, on the protected crossing and while the light intended for pedestrians was green. But a scooter, whose driver runs the red light of the lane on which he was traveling, hits him violently. Not only does the scooter driver flee, but he also drags his victim for around fifteen meters.

The schoolboy is seriously injured. He was in a coma when help arrived, suffering from head trauma and multiple leg fractures. The young man was immediately transported to Necker hospital in (15th arrondissement), accompanied by his parents who had rushed to the scene of the accident. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy.

Thanks to several witnesses who had the reflex to note the license plate of the fleeing two-wheeler, the police were able to identify the owner of the scooter. They then went to his home, rue Micolon in .

The 36-year-old man returned home and admitted the facts when the police arrived. He tested positive for drug use and 0.58 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air. Less than an hour after hitting the teenager, he was taken to the Maisons-Alfort police station, in charge of the investigation.

The 30-year-old was placed in police custody and will have to answer in court for the facts of aggravated involuntary injuries, manifest violation of an obligation of safety or prudence and hit and run.
