A seemingly ordinary Monday afternoon turned into a day of terror for the residents of Saran, a town near Orléans. On November 11, just before 4 p.m., a serious road accident took place on the Route d'Ormes, involving two vehicles and causing serious consequences. Emergency services quickly treated five victims, two of them seriously injured. This incident highlights the potential dangers of the road, even on sections where speed is regulated.

The inexplicable shock
This Monday, the accident occurred on a section of road well known to residents, a few hundred meters from a bridge overlooking the A10 motorway. This zone, with its four traffic lanes, is however limited to a speed of 90 km/h. Despite these precautions, the collision between a BMW and a Citroën C4 was incredibly violent.
The BMW, for reasons still undetermined, deviated from its trajectory. This deviation, unexplained for the moment, led to a head-on collision with the Citroën which was coming in the opposite direction. The impact was such that emergency services had to intervene in an absolute emergency.

Lives on hold
In the BMW, the driver, a young man of 25, was quickly transported to Orléans University Hospital. His condition was considered critical by medical teams. Beside him, his passenger, aged 30, was found in cardio-respiratory arrest when help arrived. His vital prognosis remains serious, and doctors are currently working to stabilize him.
As for the occupants of the Citroën C4, their injuries, although less serious, required immediate treatment. The situation of these victims reminds everyone of the fragility of life on the road and the importance of constant vigilance.
A tragic sequence
As if the situation was not already dramatic enough, a subsequent accident occurred shortly after the initial collision. This new incident involved another vehicle, causing an additional minor injury. This victim was also taken to Orléans University Hospital for appropriate care.
