By winning on Wednesday on the courts of Loon-Plage (4-2), the Bressuire Tennis Club (TCB) took a huge step towards remaining in Pro A… but it is not yet enough. Indeed, in a very homogeneous group, we will have to wait for this final day of Saturday November 23 to know the outcome. Not for the finalist place promised to Quimperlé, but to know which club will join Pro B next year. And Bressuire is not immune to a disaster scenario in the event of defeat against Blanc-Mesnil.
A block of French players
“On this final day, we can all be second or go down, observed Nicolas Devilder, the captain. All the teams likely to go down will therefore play the game hard, which means that there is a lot of uncertainty. As far as we are concerned, I am still waiting for confirmations from players, but the idea remains to have a block of French players, and we will see as we go along to finalize the group for this match which is very important. »
The Bressuirais have the advantage of receiving and not having to worry about the results of other matches. The TCB has the cards in hand to get this precious sesame. And to achieve this, the mentality and support of the public will be important for a team which should find the French Maé Malige (n°75), who has just offered a performance against Evgeny Donskoy and above all to string together two successes of ranked in singles, Alexis Gautier (n°55), and Mathys Erhard (n°45), author of a high-flying victorious match in the middle of the week against Billy Harris.
The German Peter Gojowczyk (T100), in difficulty the first two days, seems to have found rhythm and has just accumulated two successes in singles. Absent in the North, Edas Butvilas (n°38) and Enrico Dalla Valle (n°36) could rejoin the team to try to thwart a Parisian team that is undefeated, but author of four draws. Blanc-Mesnil will also have to do the work to maintain his position.
On paper, it's strong with Adrian Mannarino (n°3), Alexandre Muller (n°8), Quentin Halys (n°10), Grégoire Barrère (n°19) and Marco Trungelliti (n°21) !
