The Horn racing competition association will be present at the 66e edition of the Autumn Rally (November 28 to 30) with his 1988 Group A factory Peugeot 205. At the wheel, Erick Horning from Marseille and in the co-driver's seat, Pascal Robin. The latter also does not lack humor regarding the crew's participation in this new Autumn: “If we win, I'll dye my hair blue.”
With much more wisdom and moderation, his driver specifies: “I think that in our category, we can reasonably aim for a top 10”.
The 2023 edition of the Autumn Rally for Erick Horning and his co-driver has remained etched in their memories. “We had broken a rocker arm on the BMW a few days before. I found this 205 at Fun Méca Sport. She had returned the day before the historic Tour de Corse rally. During the first stage we broke the accelerator cable. We were able to repair it with a shoelace.”
Since then, Erick Horning, at the origin of the Rallye du Touquet with his friend Thierry Sabine, has remained faithful to his new mount. “This year, we also completed 7e du Touquet in our category.” A car that works particularly well. “Recently, I lent it to a Swiss pilot. With it, he won the Mont Blanc rally in his category.” And then the Marsellois, who has had a thousand lives, only dreams of one thing today: “This year, I was on the waiting list for the historic Tour de Corsica. In 2025, from midnight when registration opens, I will be in front of my computer.”
In the meantime, in their almost family association, the Horn Racing team is refining with its local partners the strategy to adopt for this 66e edition. The crew remembers the particularly muddy 2023 edition. “First of all, we're going to have fun and we're not going to put pressure on ourselves. Then, if it was on dry ground this time, it would be better for the restart.”
