A fire broke out on Thursday evening around 8:20 p.m., requiring the intervention of firefighters following a call from the owner of a house located at 7 rue du Ruéssium in the town center of Saint-Paulien.
When local firefighters arrived on the scene, they secured the sole resident of the house, the owner of this place, who had left her home.
Around twenty firefighters mobilized
The building impacted by the start of the fire was type R + 3. After a reconnaissance, the firefighters found level 2 smoked with a fire starting in the attic. Two fire hoses were positioned to fight the fire, one from inside the house and one from the large ladder. The roof was not destroyed. The job of the rescuers was to prevent the fire from spreading and above all to protect the other adjoining houses. The origin of the fire is believed to be the chimney pipe.
Around twenty firefighters came from the centers of Saint-Paulien, Puy-en-Velay, Beaulieu-Rosières and Cayres under the command of Lieutenant Patrice Trincal. The owner was relocated for the night by family. The departmental road was cut off during the intervention of firefighters. The Loudes gendarmes were present on the scene.
