The Department of Eure received the 2024 Graphic Art & Heritage Prize for its project to promote the Levavasseur spinning mill.
On October 25, the Department of Eure received the 2024 Graphic Art & Heritage Prize for its project to promote the Levavasseur spinning mill. The prize was awarded to Catherine Delalande, departmental advisor, on the occasion of the International Cultural Heritage Fair, at the Carrousel du Louvre.
This distinction, awarded in partnership with the Safeguarding of French Art, is accompanied by skill sponsorship worth 15,000 euros for the digitization and 3D modeling of the site.
The public at the heart of the project
Despite its restricted access for security reasons, the site welcomed more than a thousand visitors in 2024. Classical and dramatized guided tours, concerts, and even the “Au fil des sons” project involving social assistance children have made it possible to bring this 19th century industrial heritage to life all year round.
Thanks to this award, 3D scanning will make it possible to document the state of the building before the consolidation work planned for 2025, while serving as a mediation tool for the public.
The Department, owner since 1999, continues to develop this former spinning mill, currently in the process of being classified as a Historic Monument. Its full reopening is planned for 2028.
