VIDEO – Asked during their first televised debate about their fitness to be president, the two candidates for the White House took the opportunity to bicker about their performance at golf.

«I just won two championships“, Trump boasted. Joe Biden (81 years old) and Donald Trump (78 years old) debated Thursday around the economy, immigration and foreign policy, but it was an argument over their golf performance that sparked the most virulent comments. This exchange set the tone for the first debate between the two candidates for the White House.

Responding to a question about his fitness, Trump bragged about being in “very good shape”. The Republican provoked his Democratic rival: “He challenged me to play a round of golf. He can’t even hit a ball more than 50 yards.”.

“I saw your swing…”

With a smile on his face, Biden then joked about the height and weight of his predecessor. The current president, in turn, praised his golfing skills. “When I was vice president, I reduced my handicap to six”he said. In golf, handicap is a measure of a player’s skill. The lower the handicap, the better the player. “I saw your swing…”Trump added, calling Biden’s disability assertion “biggest lie of all”.

The American president once again challenged his rival to play golf. The two men continued to make murderous remarks during the 90 minutes of the debate.
