The Vaudoise Foundation for Culture (FVPC) has revealed the names of its 2024 winners. Filmmaker Germinal Roaux receives the Grand Prize worth 50,000 francs. The awards will be presented on November 29 at Plateforme 10, in Lausanne.
Once a year, the FVPC awards prizes to personalities from Vaud or those living in the canton of Vaud. The objective is to honor, reward and highlight artists and to give them the material means to continue their work, the canton explained on Wednesday.
Photographer and filmmaker, Germinal Roaux is honored for having “enriched the country with strong work and a new approach”, underlines a press release. The prize rewards him for his entire career, while his new film “Cosmos” is playing at festivals.
Six other distinctions worth 20,000 francs each provide a “spotlight” on an artistic force in the canton. They are awarded to the writer Mathias Howald, the dancer Marie-Caroline Hominal, the visual artists Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz, as well as the musicians Stephan “Mandrax” Kohler and Sébastien Kohler.
The Building Culture Prize goes to Fanny Pilet. Finally, the Awakening Prize (which arouses the awakening of the public, young or adult) to the author of children’s literature Christine Pompeii.
