In the riots that ignited in summer 2023he wanted to do like everyone else and set fire to garbage containers in Argentan (Orne), by means of cocktails molotov.

Ce Tuesday November 19, 2024the defendant, a 23-year-old young man, was tried by the Argentan criminal court for destruction of property belonging to others by dangerous means, as a repeat offender.

A case which echoes the events of the summer of 2023, a period during which France was ignited following the death of young Nahel in (Hauts-de-Seine). Ce July 2, 2023some residents of Argentan did not want to be left out and in turn decided to setting fire to trash containers.

The police have to move to rue des Provinces. On their journey, they will have to make their way among burning containers, but encounter no hostility

The next day, surveillance was set up in the same neighborhood. In a cellar, they will discover molotov cocktails, bottles of hydrochloric acid, paint sprays and other objects which they will seize and send to the laboratory for analysis. Without a real home, it's just the June 12, 2024 that the alleged perpetrator can be heard. He admits without difficulty that he was indeed in Argentan on the evening of the fires which followed the death of Nahel, that he had made and thrown a molotov cocktail.

From prison

A material damage that is difficult to assess according to the representative of Sitcom (Intercommunal Union for sorting and collection of household waste), a damage which affects more residents with a problem of unsanitary conditions.

The public prosecutor, who regrets the absence of the accused, requested, as a repression, an eight-month prison sentence without adjustment in the state.

The defendant, originally from Gardanne (Bouches-du-Rhône), was found guilty of destroying property belonging to another by dangerous means, as a repeat offender. He is sentenced to a sentence of six months in prison in addition to the ban on possessing a weapon for five years.
