A German Mercedes, bought for the price of a smartphone, is now worth three times more

Today, these models sell for between 15,000 and 20,000 euros. Suffice to say that Sam has unearthed a real find, as usual on his YouTube channel.

300 horses under the capo

Under the hood of this beast, a V8 engine that delivers 300 horsepower, enough to make the asphalt shiver. Unfortunately, the car had some minor mechanical issues, mainly related to the battery and motor. Nothing insurmountable for Samcrac, who quickly diagnosed the culprit, a faulty EGR valve. Rather than going to the dealership, he bought a new EGR valve for 160 euros. As a result, after rolling up his sleeves, he treated himself to a functional German SUV for only 1,560 euros, which he tests in the video below.

When mechanics transforms your holey pockets into a safe

This story proves that a little elbow grease and some mechanical knowledge can work miracles. Rather than emptying your wallet in garages, Samcrac shows that with a little know-how, it is possible to drive a prestigious vehicle at a ridiculous price. Of course, not everyone can dismantle an EGR valve like changing a light bulb, but this YouTuber reminds us that with a little passion, miracles are never far away.

Thanks to this work and the putting into circulation of the vehicle, the YouTuber can hope to receive at least 3 times more than his purchase price.

To summarize

An American YouTuber keen on mechanics, Samcrac, got his hands on a rare gem, a Mercedes-Benz Class R 500 from the 2000s for the modest sum of 1,500 euros. For this price, you would rather expect a remote-controlled car, but no, it is indeed a racing car which cost around 60,000 euros when it was released in 2006.
