Tomorrow, at 8 a.m., the Green Santa Sleigh will leave the Promenade des Anglais in Nice for a solidarity mission across France and as far as Belgium. This event, organized by the Secours populaire des Alpes-Maritimes, marks the launch of the second edition of this initiative.
The departure from Nice coincides with International Children's Rights Day. On the Promenade des AnglaisGreen Santa's sleigh will take off to cross thirteen departments before reaching Belgium. This project aims to collect new toys in the local Secours populaire federations. These toys will be offered on December 4 has 130 children supported by the association Belgian CO.FA.MON, during a special show for Saint-Nicolas.
The journey will take place in several stages, passing through Toulon, Grenoble, Dijon and Strasbourg. At each stop, local volunteers will take over. Accompanied by children who are members of the “Copains du Monde”, the sleigh is a real solidarity chain moving.
A solidarity and international trip
Once in Belgium, the journey will continue to Italy, with a new distribution of toys for children supported by the ARCI association. THE back will be done on the same principle: cross France to reach Nicealways loaded with gifts and hope.
Secours populaire points out that this initiative is part of its “Green Santa Claus” campaign, launched in 1976. The objective is to offer those in need a moment of celebration and sharing.

The 3A Hotels group is mobilizing for the SPF
For the sixth year, the group's hotels 3A Hotels La Collection (West End, Aston La Scala and Beau Rivage) are organizing a toy drive to benefit Popular Relief of the Alpes-Maritimes. Of November 30 to December 11, 2024the people of Nice are invited to drop off games, books, stuffed animals and other entertainment in one of the three hotels. Donations, collected on December 12 by Green Santa volunteers will be sold. The objective is to finance the purchase of new toys for disadvantaged children. This initiative raises more than 1,500 toys.
