A 28-year-old man was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention following the death of a 49-year-old man, stabbed on November 12, 2024 in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). The victim died after being stabbed in the back during a violent altercation.

A flight to Mayotte
The investigation, entrusted to the Central Directorate of Public Security (DCSP) of Rennes, quickly made it possible to identify the main suspect. The latter, aged 28, was arrested on Saturday November 16 at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, as he was preparing to board a flight to Mayotte.
Repatriated to Rennes and placed in police custody, the suspect exercised his right to silence in the face of investigators. Before the investigating judge, he admitted having had “a dispute linked to drug trafficking” with the victim. He also admitted stabbing her, but said he had not intended to kill her. In accordance with the prosecution's requisitions, the man was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention (JLD).
The public prosecutor specified that the suspect has a criminal record including four mentions, including two convictions for offenses against drug legislation.
