Paris Match and its skipper Jérôme Huffer are participating in the Vendée Globe race via the Virtual Regatta game.
Paris Match has always been in love with sailing and ocean racing in the real world, as well as in the virtual world. It was too tempting to participate in Virtual Regatta, an online game that simulates the Vendée Globe and the world leader in eSailing. To date, Virtual Regatta Offshore had 671,000 registered and 591,000 boats racing.
Among the eSkippers, there were 86% French players, 4% Swiss players and 1% Belgians, Germans, British, Americans, Canadians, Spaniards and Italians. The game is so popular that a movie took it as inspiration. In theaters since last Wednesday, “La Vallée des fous” by Xavier Beauvois follows the maritime adventures but at the bottom of the garden of a widowed restaurateur, played by Jean-Paul Rouve.
