Seven cars are still in the running for the coveted 2025 “Car of the year” trophy. The Renault 5/Alpine A290 and the Citroën C3 are among the finalists. The winner will be revealed on January 10 at the Brussels International Motor Show.

Who will succeed the Renault Scenic, winner last year? The French manufacturers are once again in a strong position with four cars in this selection: the Renault 5/Alpine A290 and the Citroën C3 but also the Dacia Duster (Renault group) and the Alfa Romeo Junior (Stellantis group).
The big winner revealed at the Brussels Motor Show
The 2025 winner will be announced on January 10 at the Brussels International Motor Show. Until then, the jurors will carefully test the finalist cars to choose their favorite. Finally, the seven car models will be brought together for a joint test at the Mettet test site in Belgium until the final vote for the title of The Car of the Year 2025. Each of them will be able to
“distribute 25 points, offering a maximum of 10 points to a car and voting for at least five vehicles among the seven finalists with a winning model”
.
Last year, the Renault Scenic accumulated 329 points, ahead of the BMW 5 Series (308 points) and the Peugeot 3008 (197 points). The Jeep Avenger won the 2023 edition and the Kia EV6 the 2022 edition.
