The developers of The First Descendant, the Korean looter-shooter, have decided to soon implement a new physics element in the game “much requested” by the community.

The First Descendant overhauls its physics

The First Descendant will soon launch its second season but also and above all introduce a physics element “much requested” by the community: “Jiggle physics”. This technical characteristic, which could roughly be translated as “shaking physics”, simply corresponds to the implementation of the exaggerated physical management of the physical attributes of the characters, mainly female. As reported GamesRadarit was one of the members of the Nexon studio who shared this “important news” on the game’s official Discord, after the studio decided to launch a FAQ.

I’ve had a busy day, so I just logged on to the FAQ. I may not be able to log in tomorrow either, as I have a busy schedule starting early tomorrow morning. However, I wanted to share some important news, so I decided to log in late tonight. After a long discussion with the Director today, a decision was made to add the much requested “Jiggle Physics”. This decision was made a short time ago, so details on when and how it will be implemented in the game have not yet been finalized and will be shared in future updates. I hope it will be a pleasant surprise for our dear successors who have been waiting for it.

A real issue

Before the implementation of “Jiggle Physics”, The First Descendant was already clearly banking on the male gaze and the more than advantageous physique of its characters. A recurring characteristic within Korean games and which had already animated numerous debates with the release of Stellar Blade and the character of Eve. That being said, Jiggle Physics has become a real issue for studios who are wondering if this technique is really politically correct. As noted PC Gamer In 2018, Epic Games decided to use Jiggle Physics for Fortnite before reversing its decision, stating that this implementation was “embarrassing and unintentional”. For its part, Nexon seems to have made a decision.
