Murder of Sihem: the suspect’s house, the heart of the reconstruction

#GARD The body of young Sihem Belouahmia, aged 18, was found on the night of Wednesday February 1 to Thursday February 2, 2023, in a wood located between Salles-du-Gardon and La Grand-Combe. More than eighteen months after his death, a reconstruction was organized on Monday.

It concentrated in the suspect's house, rue Jules-Guesde, La Levade district in La Grand-Combe where the events allegedly took place, while the first elements of the investigation suggested that the young girl had been killed in the suspect's car.

From the early hours of this Monday morning and until around 2 p.m., the police and judicial authorities took over the premises, preventing access to anyone. It was a question of replaying the evening where the high school student was killed with the main suspect, Mafhoud Hansali.

The Mendois “raven” definitively condemned

#LOZÈRE It is the epilogue of a legal drama which lasted more than thirty months. Robert Pantel, the Mende “crow”, author of a series of infamous anonymous letters to various personalities in Mende, has exhausted all avenues of appeal after the rejection of his appeal to the Supreme Court.

The father of Sophie Pantel, president of the Lozère departmental council at the time and current deputy for the same department, was arrested for racial insults and forgery in private writing.

On February 2, 2023, the Mende criminal court sentenced him to a fine of €1,500 with full suspension. On December 14, 2023, the Nîmes Court of Appeal confirmed this judgment.

Today's figure: 200,000

# This is in euros the amount of the ransom that the Marseillais demanded to free a 22-year-old Montpellier man, whom they had kidnapped. The delinquents sent the victim's family videos via Snapchat, where we see the young prisoner with a gun to his head and then with a cannon in his mouth.

The victim, gagged and tied up, managed to escape. The suspects are actively sought.

Airbnb law: the Sète metropolitan area wants to go further

#HERAULT The Airbnb law, aimed at regulating tourist construction, was adopted by Parliament on November 7. Highly requested for some time, this measure aims to better regulate furnished tourist accommodation. With this law, Sète has the opportunity to move up a gear in its approach, already underway, to combating the housing crisis.

Classified as a tense area, the unique island could grant itself the right to modify its Local Urban Plan, so that purchasing for second homes or seasonal rentals is impossible within housing programs under construction.

Come learn how to cook leftovers, with Gilles Goujon

#BEZIERS As part of European Waste Reduction Week, Gilles Goujon will host a zero waste workshop at the Béziers media library, Friday at 3 p.m.

“We're going to imagine a fridge with leftovers, like the carcass of the chicken from Sunday lunch. The idea is to make something good and simple. Nothing is thrown away, everything is transformed! explains the three-star chef. We will explain what we, professionals, would do with these remains.”

Quentin Pellestor-Veyrier, chef at L'Alter Native, in Béziers, will be at his side during this workshop.
