The authorities indicate in a press release that they have “no evidence that this is a criminal act”.

“The investigation has determined that the death is not suspicious,” it added.

The family of 19-year-old Gursimran Kaur has been informed of these latest developments in the investigation and is asking the public to respect their privacy while she grieves.

However, the Halifax police did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of this tragedy.

The young woman, an employee of the Walmart located on Mumford Street, in Halifax, was found dead in a chamber oven used by the supermarket’s bakery on October 19.

According to the Maritime Sikh Society, it was his mother, also a Walmart employee, who made the macabre discovery.

The oven in question was immediately subject to a shutdown order from the Nova Scotia Department of Labor, which has since been lifted on October 28.

Halifax police had indicated that the investigation into this death could be “long” and “complex”.

The store has remained closed since the tragic event.

No reopening date has yet been announced.

Gursimran Kaur arrived in Canada with her mother less than three years ago.

A crowdfunding campaign in support of the family has raised more than $190,000 since the incident.
