Friday November 15, 2024it is 7:35 p.m. when an anti-crime brigade patrol is driving along the road from Bonne-Nouvelle to Dieppe (Seine-Maritime).
The police officers then noticed that several fire and national police vehicles were parked near the red light located at the bottom of Avenue Jean-Riblet.
Three private cars were also stopped on the road and two of them were damaged. In the middle of the vehicles, municipal police officers are arresting a man who is not giving up.
The Bac police officers then decide to lend a hand to their colleagues. The man who is struggling lives in Petit-Caux and is 36 years old. He was driving one of the two damaged cars, a Peugeot 207 which was badly damaged at the front.
Highly alcoholic
This driver smells strongly of alcohol. When checked, he tested positive with 2.2 grams of alcohol in his blood. A witness present on site explained to the police that the Peugeot 207 arrived at high speed at the red light, failed to stop and hit a Toyota from behind.
At the wheel of this second vehicle, a 35-year-old woman who lives in Dieppe. The latter had to be taken care of by the firefighters and suffered from back and neck pain.
The alleged perpetrator of the accident tried to flee immediately after the incident but eventually returned to the scene. Arrested and placed in police custody, he explained that he became aware of what he was doing and that is why he returned to the scene.
He admits the facts but not the hit-and-run. The man should be tried in immediate appearance this Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Dieppe criminal court.
