For health reasons, Guillaume Durand was unable to appear as planned at C Mediathis Sunday, November 17. Journalist Mélanie Taravant therefore had to find solutions to compensate for her absence.
Health comes first. This Sunday, November 17, Guillaume Durand was supposed to participate in the weekly discussion of France 5 in C Mediaat noon. But when the show began, the journalist and writer was not at the table. “To tell you the truth, this afternoon we were to receive Guillaume Durand as a great witnessimmediately announced the presenter, Mélanie Taravant. It was at the last minute that he had to cancel his participation in the show: small health problems without seriousness. So we wish him a good recovery, but that’s also what’s live!” To be able to bounce back from this unexpected cancellation, the journalist had to reorganize her show. She then welcomed Maryse Gildas as the opening act. The radio host and wife of Philippe Gildas would normally only appear in the second part of the show, but “these are the hazards of live”justified Mélanie Taravant.
A rebroadcast in C Media to fill the absence of Guillaume Durand
The writing of C Media managed to land on its feet by rebroadcasting an interview with Jean-Pierre Foucault. A choice that was not left to chance since it was alongside him that Maryse Gildas made her debut, as an assistant on the show Pepsi Boom on Europe 1, in the 1960s. At the end of the show, Mélanie Taravant once again had a little word for Guillaume Durand: “We of course salute Guillaume Durand who had a small health problem last night. Hi Guillaume if you’re watching us!” The journalist reacted on X (formerly Twitter). We can read there: “All my friendship to the C Médiatique team. Last night, a small problem that was ultimately not serious. Rest. See you soon and thank you for your understanding.” (see screenshot below)
In recent years, Guillaume Durand has had to fight against cancer
Guillaume Durand had jaw cancer in 2021, for which he underwent surgery and for which he has been in remission since January 2022. Last September, he came to C to you to present his latest book, Band aparthe had confided to Élisabeth Lemoine that he was “went from 90 to 75 kilos” because of illness. “I had no idea what my destiny was going to be and I have always had a rather special relationship with grief”, he had said. Fortunately, the health concern which prevented him from going to the set of C Media doesn't seem serious.
