GPD has finally revealed pricing for its highly anticipated Pocket 4 mini-laptop, which combines the functionality of a handheld, laptop and tablet into a compact 770g device. Prices range from $895 for the base model to $1,466 for the top configuration.
The GPD Pocket 4 has a physical keyboard, touchscreen, and touchpad. The device uses AMD's Zen 4 (Hawk Point) and Zen 5 (Strix Point) processors, with different RAM and SSD configurations for different price points.
- The entry-level Pocket 4 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor with eight Zen 4 cores and Radeon 780M graphics, combined with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. crowdfunding campaign from IGG, this model will be available at a reduced price of $829.
- The mid-range option, priced at $1,157, upgrades to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 365 processor with 10 Zen 5 cores and Radeon 880M graphics, along with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.
- The flagship configuration, priced at $1,466, features the powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 12 Zen 5 cores and Radeon 890M graphics. It offers up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, with an additional 4TB storage option for users with larger needs.
All models share the same basic specs, including an 8.8-inch 2.5K 144Hz display with 97% DCI-P3 color gamut and 500 nits brightness. The device features Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, memory speeds of up to 7,500 MT/s, and a TDP of 28W.
For additional functionality, GPD offers optional accessories: a $20 EIA RS-232 module for support for existing devices and a $125 4G LTE module for mobile connectivity. Although the device lacks an OCuLink port, support for an external GPU is possible via USB4.
GPD has yet to announce an official release date, but if the crowdfunding campaign goes as planned, the Pocket 4 should be available by the end of the year. The GPD Pocket 3, which is already more than three years old, will therefore soon have a successor.
