On the night of Saturday, November 16, the Al-Bam neighborhood of the town of Driush witnessed the explosion of a butane gas cylinder inside a carpentry workshop, causing material damage and state of panic among the residents of the neighborhood.
According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred inside the store, where the gas leak caused the cylinder to explode, causing the destruction of parts of the store, while the fire destroyed part equipment and materials that were inside.
Immediately, teams from the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection arrived on site and were able to bring the fire under control. The injured man, suffocated by smoke inhalation, was transferred to the regional hospital to receive the necessary first aid.
At the same time, local authorities, in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie, opened an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the explosion, fearing the repetition of such incidents endangering lives and property.
