This Sunday, November 17, late in the morning, the ceremony took place as the organizers wanted: with the greatest dignity, without much media presence. One year after the tragedy in Crépol where Thomas Perotto was stabbed to death during the ball which took place on the night of November 18 to 19, 2023, the village, which has 560 inhabitants, wanted to pay tribute to the child of the country by erecting a stele, in the presence of the parents, Isabelle and David Perotto.
Not far from the town hall, surrounded by greenery, the stele takes the form of an enormous limestone rock in which a double metal heart is embedded.
« So that no one forgets »
“We are gathered to pay tribute to Thomas who was a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a godchild, a friend, a friend, an acquaintance who lost his life in tragic conditions a year ago. It was not an accident but a voluntary and deliberate act. We are also here to support all the victims of this tragedy, all the people hurt in their hearts and in their souls. In agreement with the family and the town hall, we decided to place this work here so that no one forgets and everyone can reflect,” declared Emmanuelle, president of the Crépol victims’ association.
