In the Nations League, the final verdicts are in. It would have taken a catastrophe for Germany not to win their group.

Germany was 5 points ahead of the Netherlands before these last two Nations League meetings. It would therefore have taken a real collapse of the Mannschaft for it not to finish first.

This Saturday, Germany rolled over Bosnia-Herzegovina, winning 7 goals to 0 at the Europa-Park Stadion in Fribourg. By halftime, Musiala, Kleindienst and Havertz had already killed the match and made it 3-0. A double from Florian Wirtz after returning from the locker room, then goals from Sané and Kleindienst fixed the score at 7-0.

In the other group match, the Netherlands did the job. After a scare caused by Adam Szalai, a member of the Hungarian staff, who collapsed due to illness, the Oranje won (4-0) with two penalties from Weghorst and Gakpo in the first half, then goals from Dumfries and Koopmeiners.

Germany, with 13 points, therefore finished first in its group. The Netherlands are ahead of Hungary by 3 points and can no longer be overtaken, since the tied ranking is first done in direct confrontations.
