The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service initiated an intervention for an apartment fire this Friday November 15, 2024 shortly after 3 p.m.

The fire broke out in downtown Orléans, rue Emile-Davoust. One occupant was injured.

Fourteen firefighters on site, five emergency vehicles


At the level of 6, rue Émile-Davoustthe Loiret firefighters quickly deployed the large ladder for what appeared to be a fire in an apartment. Fourteen firefighters were sent to the scene.

The entire apartment and building were evacuated for safety and a hose was put into action.

A man poisoned by smoke

The fire was quickly brought under control and left one victim suffering from smoke poisoning. (©SDIS 45)

The report from SDIS 45 shows a victim, intoxicated by smoke, in relative emergency, a man in his forties transported to the Orléans university hospital center.

Emergency services deployed a fire engine, a large ladder, an ambulance, a nursing vehicle and a command vehicle to the scene.

Supporting their intervention to secure the scene were crews from the national police and municipal police as well as a GRDF team.

The intervention ended around 5:30 p.m.
