Requested by AFP, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that Dahbia Benkired would be tried for “the murder of a minor aged 15 accompanied or preceded by rape, torture or barbaric acts, to the detriment of young Lola, as well as for rape committed on a minor with torture or barbaric acts”.

The family’s lawyer, Me Clotilde Lepetit, greets “an instruction which shows the seriousness and the work which has been devoted to this extraordinary criminal case”. She also explains that Lola’s mother “wanted the highest level of legal proceedings to be held so that the terrible crimes committed against his daughter could be judged.”
“We hope that the debates necessary for judicial truth will take place calmly, far from the media agitation and the nonsense of social networks” For their part, declared the lawyers Dahbia Benkired, Mes Alexandre Silva and Lucile Bertier.
As a reminder, the 12-year-old girl was found in a plastic crate in the courtyard of a building. CCTV cameras had filmed Lola entering the lobby of the building with Dahbia Benkired. The latter, of Algerian nationality, entered France legally in 2016 but had been subject to an OQTF for two months.
