Since his purchase of Twitter, Mr. Musk has largely relaxed the platform’s moderation rules, notably authorizing the return of accounts linked to far-right movements on the network.

The network claims 16 million users, strong growth for a platform which had 10 million in mid-September. It had already benefited from a spotlight at the end of 2022 when Elon Musk got his hands on Twitter, which he renamed X.
Threads, another alternative to X and owned by Meta (parent company of Facebook and Instagram), also saw an increase in its users.
“Two huge weeks for Threads. More than 15 million registrations in November alone, and three months with more than a million registrations per day,” Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, published Thursday on the Meta group network.
The network, created in July 2023, claimed 275 million users at the beginning of November.
