A three-unit building in the Saint-Sauveur district was heavily damaged Thursday evening following a fire. Fortunately, the Quebec Fire Protection Service reported no injuries.
A little after 11 p.m., several neighbors reported the presence of flames at the back of the triplex on rue de Montmartre.
The fire started on the second floor in the rear drum of the building, according to fire department spokesperson Bill Noonan.
The flames quickly spread to the 3rd floor and threatened the roof. The intervention goes up to 3rd alarm to obtain sufficient numbers. Once on site, Hydro-Québec isolated the street with electricity so that firefighters could intervene safely.
specified Bill Noonan.

The occupants of the building were taken care of by the Red Cross.
Tenants of several neighboring buildings were also evacuated during the firefighter intervention.
An investigation is still underway to establish the cause of the fire.
