This Saturday, June 22, many sporting activities are offered for young and old at the University of Nîmes, on the Vauban site. No registration is required, everyone is invited.

The University of Nîmes and the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS) collaborated to organize this Gardoise Olympic Day on the Vauban site. Many activities are offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sports and disabled sports workshops are accessible to all in order to promote the values ​​of sport, Olympics and Paralympism. “We are happy to open the doors of our university to everyone. It is important for us to raise awareness about sports practice from a young age”says Benoît Roig, president of the university.

This event is supported by the City of Nîmes and the Gard Departmental Council. “It’s a great event that introduces young and old to sport. I invite everyone to enjoy this great sports festival!”, rejoices Nicolas Rainville, deputy delegate for Sports at the City of Nîmes. Happy with this initiative, Vincent Bouget, vice-president of the Gard Departmental Council, supports: “The meeting of the values ​​carried by the university and carried by sport: exchange, sharing and peace. These strong moments promote the union of humanity”.

Exceptionally, the Olympic flame is at the University of Nîmes. It is possible to see it and take a photo with it. It will be on display all day in the central courtyard of the Vauban site.

  • 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Dance demonstrations by Sébastien Roux, vice world champion of Boogie-Woogie / Central courtyard

  • 11:45 a.m.: Breaking by Yassif Ousseni, Champion of Occitanie / Gymnasium

  • 12 p.m.: Time n°1 of Dedications
