Victim of a burglary Thursday evening while watching Spain-Italy, Roberto Baggio spoke for the first time. The former Ballon d’Or had “a few stitches” put in and now hopes to overcome the trauma he experienced.

Robbed Thursday evening in his villa during the night from Thursday to Friday in the north-east of Italy, Roberto Baggio had a traumatic experience. Touched by the many signs of affection he received, the former Juventus player spoke for the first time since his attack.

“In similar circumstances anything can happen and luckily the abuse I suffered only resulted in a few stitches, bruises and a lot of fear. Now all that remains is to overcome the fear.” , communicated the 1993 Golden Ball to the Ansa press agency, through its historic manager, Vittorio Petrone.

He was watching Spain-Italy

Five armed criminals entered the villa near Vicenza and the ex-footballer tried to stop them but one of them hit him on the forehead with the butt of a gun. While watching the Euro 2024 match between Spain and Italy, Roberto Baggio and his family were then locked in a room while the criminals searched the villa for money and jewelry. The burglary lasted around forty minutes.
