The octogenarian called the police to initially report an attempted intrusion.
On the night of Friday November 10 to Saturday November 11, an unusual situation took place in the “Parisian Village” district in Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Around half past midnight, the police received an alarming call from an octogenarian, reports Le Parisien. The 89-year-old man, visibly agitated, reported an attempted burglary at his home. He describes individuals in fire gear trying to enter his house through a window.
The story of the retiree, convinced of being the target of disguised criminals, triggers rapid police intervention. He explained to the police that the thieves had claimed, with supporting documents, that they had to enter to help his wife. Who, according to the retiree, did not suffer from any ailments.
Forgetfulness or ignorance
Questioned by the police, the firefighters initially responded that they did not intervene in this area that night. But after a thorough re-examination of the situation the next day, the firefighters finally assured that the “intruders” were indeed real firefighters, called to help the complainant's wife.
It turns out that the retiree's wife had fallen in their house and had actually contacted the emergency services. Did her husband ignore it or had he forgotten it? The question remains unanswered. This is in any case the reason why, faced with a locked door, the firefighters tried to access the home through a window, involuntarily triggering the resident's panic.
